LifeBridge has launched its Suitability Scoring Service, designed to help insurers and annuity carriers meet NAIC Model 275 best-interest requirements, without slowing down distribution or adding operational friction.
With 49 U.S. states now adopting the NAIC best-interest standard, suitability expectations have shifted materially. Carriers are no longer expected to simply show that a recommendation was suitable. They must demonstrate a reasonable basis for every recommendation, ensure consistency across channels, and maintain clear documentation that can stand up to regulatory review.
This is not a minor compliance update. It represents a structural change in how suitability is assessed, how recommendations are reviewed, and how decisions are defended, particularly when applied at scale across advisors, products, and distribution models.
LifeBridge’s Suitability Scoring Service is built to address these challenges directly. It combines configurable questionnaires, rules-based scoring, and intelligent product matching into a single, cohesive framework, while automatically generating compliance-ready documentation for both producers and carriers.
Key capabilities include:
- Configurable questionnaires to capture all NAIC-required suitability factors, deployable across e-applications and agent portals
- Methodology-agnostic scoring, supporting weighted models, FINRA-style dimension checks, or Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) evaluations
- Intelligent product matching that aligns customer profiles to suitable products using configurable thresholds
- Best-interest extensions, including alternatives analysis, fee disclosure, and conflict-of-interest documentation
- Complete audit trails, with every question, response, score, and recommendation fully traceable for regulatory review
The Suitability Scoring Service integrates seamlessly with the broader LifeBridge platform, including LifeAdvisor, LifePortal, and LifeStudio. It can also operate alongside third-party systems, enabling a consistent and defensible suitability process across every distribution channel.
